Volunteering at Westwind
Our church is fueled by our incredible volunteers. We love seeing our worshiping community using their gifts and talents to serve the body of Christ.

You will be part of team that helps prepare and serve communion about 10 times a year. We are looking for people who are willing to be available, but not locked in to serving for every communion. No specific experience needed, just bring a willing heart to serve.
You can assist the pastor who is performing baptism by handing out towels, cleaning up after baptism, and washing towels.
Connection Group Leader
We are always looking for men who want to step up to the calling of shepherding and guiding others through life. Connection group leaders must be an owner of Westwind, show the ability to lead others, and meet all leadership development requirements.
Connection Group Host
A connection group host has a desire to be hospitable by opening their home to others during connection group time. This hosting position will also need to be in a connection group.
If you have a desire to come alongside others in the hard times and care for them, then you can be a Stephen Minister. Training to be a Stephen Minister is extensive and lasts about 8 months.
We are looking for people who want to use their giftedness for helping others in need through generosity and empathy. You will be able to share the love of God with others by helping to meet practical needs. Time commitment is on a required need basis and is very flexible. Requirements are to be a regular attender at Westwind and to have a desire to serve.
Children’s Ministry Volunteer (Birth-3yrs)
Join others in taking excellent care of our 0-3 year olds on Sunday mornings. We ask you to serve in only one of the Sunday morning services two weeks a month. A background check is required and provided.
Children’s Ministry Volunteer (4yrs-5th grade)
Lead a group of kids ages 4 years old through 5th grade on Sunday mornings. We ask you to serve in only one of the Sunday morning services two weeks a month. A background check is required and provided.
Children’s Production Volunteer
Can you dance, sing, or act? We need volunteers once or twice a month to help lead our worship time or act in our productions. Background Check is required and provided.
Children’s Production Tech Team Volunteer
Are computers and sound your thing? We are looking for volunteers to help set- up and run the audio/visual aspects of our productions on Sunday mornings. On the job training available. A background check is required and provided.
Children’s Check-in or Security Volunteer
Greet our children’s ministry families and check them into our computerized check-in system. Part of this position is printing name tags, entering guests into our system while smiling big and making our guests and families feel welcome. Security includes making sure only the appropriate people enter the children’s ministry hallway. Schedule is flexible. A background check is required and provided.
Junior High Volunteer
Lead, love, and hang-out with junior high students in our junior high ministry ROOTS. We ask for a weekly commitment and occasional trips and retreats.
High School Volunteer
Lead, love, and hang-out with high school students in our senior high ministry. We ask for a weekly commitment and occasional trips and retreats.
Student Ministry Tech Team Volunteer
Help run audio/visual components of our Wednesday night student ministry program. Training is available and a weekly commitment is required.
Student Ministry Worship Team
Have a passion and talent to help lead worship? We would love to talk to you! Wednesday night weekly commitment along with scheduled rehearsals.
Serve as an Audio Tech in our worship services. Help set-up our worship environments and then run the sound systems during the service. Some experience is required, but if you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach!
Serve as a Visual Tech in our worship services. Help set-up the screens and projectors and then run the computer and software that display graphics on our screens during the service. Must be comfortable working with computers and technology, but no specific skills needed. Visual Techs usually serve 1-2 times per month.
Serve as a Light Tech in our worship services. Help set-up the lights and then run them during the service. Must be able to move equipment and appreciate technology, but no specific skills needed. Light Techs usually serve 1-2 times per month.
We are always looking for instrumentalist to help us lead worship on Sunday mornings. If you are an intermediate to advanced player, we would love to talk to you. Participation is determined by audition and involvement in Westwind Church.
Help us lead Westwind Church in worship. If you have a passion for singing and have experience singing in live environments, we would love to talk to you. Participation is determined by audition and involvement in Westwind Church.
Do you love to take photos or capture video? We are alway looking for creatives to help us capture and tell the stories of what God is doing at Westwind. Need is project based so contact us so we can find a project that is right for you.
Oversees the Hospitality Ministry one Sunday per month, giving leadership to greeters, cafe’ workers, guest services and ushers.
Provides assistance and information to visitors and others wanting to know more about Westwind Church. They also follow up with visitors during the week to help them bet plugged in.
Provide the welcoming and friendly greeting to people entering the building and worship center.
Prepares and provides coffee and treats for the church. They give oversight to the Westwind Cafe’ area.
Provide assistance to people needing to find a seat or to parents with children. They also give a headcount for the worship service.
Oversees the setup or teardown of the church on Sunday morning. Commitment is once a month.
Setup Team Worker
Gives help preparing the church for worship by unloading the truck, setting up stage, curtains, chairs, and arranging the Children’s Ministry areas.
Tear Down Team Member
Gives help packing up the church after the worship service by loading the truck, tearing down the stage, curtains, chairs, and resetting the school rooms.
Provides prayer support for people who come forward after the service to receive intercession.
