WE EXIST TO

We believe that God has called us to be present in the western suburbs of Des Moines with the mission of glorifying his name, believing that as we faithfully live our lives as fully devoted followers of Christ, that the fruit we bear will engage people everywhere in the journey towards christlikeness.

We therefore run unashamed towards this mission expectant of what He will do in us and through us. To uphold our mission we hold to the following core values defining our behavior, responses in our community, and strengthening our resolve for our mission.

A Word From Our Pastor

Welcome to Westwind Church! Whether you’re joining us for the first time or you’ve been part of our community for years, I’m glad you’re here.

At Westwind, we exist to help people take their next step with Jesus. That simple purpose drives everything we do — from our worship gatherings to our life-groups, from serving our city to caring for one another spiritually and practically. 

Why Waukee?

Because we believe God has called us to be present here, in the western suburbs of Des Moines, not just to grow as individuals, but to bear fruit that draws others into the journey of Christlikeness.  Our mission isn’t just inward — it’s for the Gospel, for Waukee. 

What you’ll find here:

  • A come-as-you-are atmosphere, where real life meets real grace.

  • A church that believes in relentless prayer, because we’ve seen God move when we press in together. 

  • A heart for community: we don’t just meet – we live life together.

I firmly believe that following Jesus isn’t about distant perfection — it’s about next steps. Maybe your next step is to come to a service, try a Life Group, join us in serving, or just reach out and talk. Whatever it is, we want to walk alongside you.
