As all of God’s creation are welcome to Westwind, we specifically give a place for those with special needs to feel the warm embrace of God. As they belong here with us, we bring them into the fold and celebrate their presence.

“The one who welcomes you welcomes Me, and the one who welcomes Me welcomes Him who sent Me.” - Matthew 10:40

As we are valued by God, we also value all of the children God has created. We provide an environment for each child to flourish and to grow in their God-given purpose as a part of the Body. We embrace the differences of each child and family.

“Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know Him. Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is.”- 1 John 3:1-2

We engage kids with special needs, along with their families, in a way that helps them activate their faith. As a physical embrace requires engagement from both people involved, we create opportunities and experiences that allow them to interact with the Lord and use their spiritual giftedness, along with providing opportunities for their families.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” -Proverbs 22:6

We provide continued support to kids with special needs and their families. An embrace is not a quick action, but rather a longer experience. We believe that continued support is a vital calling of Embrace ministry.

“Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2
